Meet Emma - Our Inspirational Pittie Mix
Emma, affectionately known as "Big Momma," was a 96-pound Pittie Mix whose journey and love continue to inspire us at Wags and Homes. Rescued from a shelter's death row after enduring four returns, she taught us the power of resilience and love.
Emma adored car rides, cheered on her human brothers at lacrosse games, and was the ultimate cuddle bug. Her passion for the outdoors and unwavering spirit live on in our mission to support misunderstood breeds and promote responsible pet ownership.
Emma's memory fuels our commitment to animals in need, and her legacy will forever be a part of Wags and Homes.
Our Quirky Mini Aussie
Willie, a purebred mini Australian Shepherd, entered our lives in a whimsical twist of fate through our dog-sitting business. His fun-loving and entertaining personality shone during his stay, making him an instant favorite among our guest pups.
When his previous home proved challenging due to his dog brother, we welcomed Willie into our family with open arms. He effortlessly fit in, forging a special bond with our late Emma and proving himself to be the ultimate laid-back companion.
Willie has a penchant for cool weather and enjoys the comforts of air conditioning. Despite his quirks, we adore him just as he is, a testament to love's ability to overcome any obstacle.

Hurricane of Happiness
Lucy Lou entered our lives after a quiet period following the loss of our beloved Emma. With our laid-back pup Willie feeling the void, we set out to find a new furry friend during the tail end of the pandemic.
After much searching, we discovered a rescue event featuring pups from hurricane-hit St. Croix. Initially reserved and with some skin issues, Lucy stood out as the one. She came twice like a hurricane, and her vibrant personality soon shone through.
Lucy is our source of laughter, always up to something, and an outdoor enthusiast who shares my love for gardening, much like our late Emma. She's a skilled hunter, always looking for creatures on the move, and she never fails to draw compliments wherever we go.
Lucy is our morning walk motivator, bringing joy and a dash of adventure each day. Join us in celebrating her journey from quiet arrival to becoming the hurricane of happiness in our lives.
Our Sweet & Feisty Inspiration
Dixie, our sweet and feisty girl, joined our family thanks to a simple "I can do it" comment. We initially fostered her, unsure if we'd be chosen, but her charm won us over. Quickly, she and her best sister, Lucy, became inseparable.
Dixie's incontinence led us to uncover her condition, Hemivertebrae, requiring permanent diapering. Her journey inspired the creation of Wags and Homes, highlighting the importance of adoption, fostering, and combating over-breeding issues.
Our family of "mismatched" pups is a testament to love and resilience, brought together through adversity and held together by a shared mission. Dixie's life-long need for diapers reminds us to make a difference in the lives of needy animals. Join us in celebrating Dixie's inspiring journey and our united, loving family.
Our Animal Advocate Extraordinaire
Nicole is the heart behind Wags and Homes, a passionate advocate for animals. Her love for furry friends traces back to her farm upbringing, fueling a lifelong bond with animals.
With a background in retail and entrepreneurship, Nicole once ran a thriving dog-sitting business. Unfortunately, the pandemic led to its closure.
Inspired by the experiences of her beloved Emma and sweet Dixie, Nicole is dedicated to animal education, rescue, and fostering. She lives on coffee, gardening, and the warmth of doggy kisses, and she invites you to join her in making a difference in the lives of animals in need through Wags and Homes.
