Our Beloved Inspiration - RIP
Emma, a remarkable Pittie Mix, forever holds a special place in our hearts here at Wags and Homes. We affectionately called her "Big Momma," a nickname that perfectly captured her immense heart and gentle spirit. Emma's incredible journey and unwavering love have inspired our mission to support misunderstood breeds and promote responsible pet ownership.
Emma's life was a testament to resilience. Rescued from a local shelter's death row, she had endured four heartbreaking returns before finding her forever home. At 96 pounds, she was a bundle of pure cuddly love, adored by Pittie fans and sometimes misunderstood by those who were initially intimidated by her big, beautiful head.
She was more than a mascot for our dog-sitting business; Emma embodied unconditional love. She welcomed our guests with open paws, offering warmth and comfort through her cuddles. Emma relished car rides, cheered on her human brothers at lacrosse games, and was the ultimate cuddle bug on sick days.
Emma was a sun worshipper and a garden lover, finding solace and joy outdoors. Whether she was watching birds, chasing lizards, or simply enjoying the presence of neighborhood friends, Emma's zest for life was infectious.
Despite battling lung cancer, Emma lived a full 13 years, surrounded by love and cherished moments. In her final week, we celebrated her with daily servings of her favorite treat, french fries. We said our goodbyes in the comfort of our home with heavy hearts.
Emma's memory lives on in our hearts, a reminder of the profound bond we share with our furry companions. Her legacy fuels our mission to advocate for animals in need and educate others about misunderstood breeds.
Thank you, Emma, for teaching us the true meaning of love and resilience. You will forever be our inspiration, and your paw prints will permanently mark our journey at Wags and Homes.
